Has your doctor asked you to follow a low-sodium or heart healthy diet? Have you experienced high blood pressure, blockages in your coronary arteries, heart valve problems, or heart failure? Join experts from Carle Heart & Vascular Institute and the Harvest Market Dietitian for a cooking demonstration, designed specifically for those with heart failure. Upcoming Cooking Demos
When can I sign up for classes?
Class registration opens the 3rd Friday of each month for the following month.Classes do fill up quickly, so plan accordingly. Emily suggests choosing which class(es) you’d like to sign up for before registration opens, so you can register right away. The class list along with descriptions can be found on our Store Events page here.
Do we do any hands-on cooking during the demo?
Our Demo’s are set up like a live cooking show, so sit back, relax and let Emily do all the cooking for you!
How do I pay for the class I signed up for?
Payments can be received online, at the customer service desk either in person or by paying over the phone (355-7878).
When do I have to pay by?
Payments for all classes are due the day before the class by 12pm. If payments are not received by this time, your seats will no longer be reserved.
The class I want to register for is full- help!
Please email Emily directly to be added to the wait list for a class that is full. Persons on the waitlist are often contacted!
I can no longer make a demo I registered for- what do I do?
Email Emily directly (email@example.com) to cancel your registration.
Are kids allowed?
While there is no age limit to attending a cooking demo, the classes are catered more towards adults. It is up to the discretion of the guardian whether a cooking demo would be appropriate for their child(ren). If you are unsure, you may always call or email Emily directly.
Do we eat during the demo?
Yes! There are typically 4-6 recipes prepared per cooking demo, which ends up being a full plate of food.
What if I have an allergy/intolerance?
Please notify Emily immediately with any of your dietary concerns. While Emily tries to accommodate the best she can, the kitchen is not nut- or gluten free.
What If I need special seating/wheelchair access?
Please let Emily know as soon as possible for any requested seating arrangements. We do have an elevator to access the 2nd floor and Emily is more than happy to accommodate anyone wanting to participate.
Is there anything else I should know?
Emily does have a special VIP subscriber email list where she sends out last minute openings of classes and surprise pop-up classes for VIP subscribers only! To join her email list, email Emily directly at firstname.lastname@example.org
